Colin Welter

Actor • Singer • Dancer • Musician

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Colin Welter (he/him/his) is an actor, singer, and dancer presently based in Boston. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, music director, arranger, synthesizer programmer, director and writer. As an artist, he is drawn to how music presents itself aurally, visually, and physically, and the power of music to capsulate the human condition.

He has performed with Hillbarn Theatre and Starting Arts, the latter of which he has worked with as a music assistant. He began performing theatrically at age 9 in Damn Yankees with San Carlos Children’s Theater and kept with the company through high school in multiple positions, from onstage roles to assistant directing to serving on the youth advisory board.

Colin took his education to Emerson College, where he graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theatre as a part of the Honors College. He has performed onstage with Emerson Stage, served as Music Director in Residence for Musical Theatre Society, and was the teaching assistant for the Music Theory courses.

When not performing, he can be found baking bananas foster cheesecake, playing fast-paced card games, or hopelessly rooting for his San Jose Sharks.
